Circumstances found him stranded in the Epiphany Trek universe where he was found by the USS Nia. Here he had run into a universe where his hyperdrive didn't work. After some long discussions with the Ane Dr. Johnson and his team exchanged the Johnson continua drive for knowledge of the warp drive.
